WHAT:
A classic Fall Festival filled with joy, connection, and memory making, curated for cancer families with your safety and comfort in mind. There are rumors folks have spotted Bigfoot in the area...he is VERY shy, but perhaps he'll join us for some fun!

BASIC SCHEDULE:
11:30am-12:30pm: Arrive and enjoy lunch and activities in the barn.
12:30-1:30pm: Fall Festival Carnival + Parent connection time
1:30-2:15pm: Bigfoot Hunt
2:15-2:45pm: Smores, hot cider, and games
2:45-3:45pm: Variety Show and Barn Dance!

SAFETY:
We want to be sure you feel secure at this event! The venue is mostly outdoors, or inside a huge barn with doors open and plenty of airflow.
-
Our TLC Medical Team will be on-site all day to support and advise about any medical issues that may arise. This team includes two Oncology Nurse Practitioners from Seattle Children's, and the Director of Nursing at Fred Hutch Cancer Center.
-
ALL PARTICIPANTS will be subject to a health screening upon arrival, including a temperature check and symptoms survey. We will not allow anyone with symptoms of illness to participate.
-
ALL VOLUNTEERS will have shown proof of vaccination including the bivalent booster for COVID-19. If a volunteer hasn’t received the booster, we will require a Covid test the day of the event.
-
ALL PARTICIPANTS will make regular use of the plentiful supply of hand sanitizer that will be provided.
-
The Barn is located 22 miles from Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma, and will be our recommendation if emergency care is needed.
-
Because we will be outdoors and in a barn with plenty of air flow, masks will be optional.

We also expect that you consult your primary medical provider to be sure an event like this is appropriate for your child and family.

FAQ:
If only part of my family can attend, is that OK?
YES! As long as one parent or caregiver is present.

May I bring extended family or family friends?
Sorry, this event is for your immediate family only (i.e. those who live in your home).

What will the food be like?
We will serve a buffet of pre-packaged lunch items like sandwiches, salads, chips, and fruit. We will provide a few options for kids and adults. If you have a family member who is gluten free, dairy free, or has another specific allergy, please plan to bring some food of your own.

My kids are super young...will they have fun?
They will! We will have a special space dedicated to babies and preschoolers, staffed by a team of expert, professional preschool educators.
